Life is short. Eat the cake! Simple as that.
Hi, I’m Brenda. I want to personally thank you for taking the time out to stop by my page. So, a little about me, I am 48 years young, single mom of one wonderful son. Together we live on land that has been in my family for probably close to 200 years or more. We live an uncomplicated happy little life with our silly animal friends and all the follies of everyday life.
I have worked many years in healthcare and it is clearly my passion and my calling. Before that I did some pretty interesting things like teaching, pursuing a music career, and even being a licensed funeral director. I still work in the mortuary business but only on special occasions for hard cases or for friends and family. To be the one to give a family the closure they desperately need is very rewarding for me and that is why I still choose to practice.
Outside of working a 9 to 5 you will find me doing a number of things. My animals are a huge part of my life and require a lot of care. They all have their own personalities making things interesting and I can’t wait to tell you about them.
Growing up I was not your ordinary girl. Instead of dresses and Barbie dolls I was all about motorcycles and playing in the dirt. Nothing has changed. I still love motorcycles and I am still always in the dirt. I was notorious for running over the in ground sprinklers. I would clip one of those bad boys with my motorcycle and send a water geyser shooting up into the air that went higher than the house. It was quite impressive. So in order to not get in trouble I would put the motorcycle away and quietly hide in my room until the yelling started and i knew I was caught. Why I thought I wouldn’t get caught I have no idea. After the third or fourth broken sprinkler my dad handed me a shovel and from that point forward I became a professional at fixing the plumbing and a few other things too. It didn’t matter that I was a girl I was still taught to fix and do things so that I wouldn’t have to rely on anyone else to come and do it for me.
Woodworking and building things are my passion. Flipping furniture, remodeling rooms, putting in floors. I have done it all. I’ve most definitely messed up along the way but learned a lot in the process. And what I don’t know how to do I familiarize myself by watching a three minute Youtube and just like everyone else in this world I became a professional after that. I even have the printed certificates to prove it.
I have lived a hard life, and by sharing some of my experiences I hope that some of the things I have to say will relate with others who may feel ashamed or alone. I am not a therapist. But I am that friend who stands in the doorway in pajamas and hair in a bun while eating my oreos and dunking them in peanut butter telling you to forget that boy (or girl) at 11 pm at night. My struggles are real just like yours. We are not perfect beings and I will never claim to be. So if something here relates to you, or if something I write about makes a difference in your life, even just a little bit, I want to hear from you and I would love to hear about it.
